The Kitchen Artefacts Mini Spatula is a work of art. It has a black maire blade with a Volcanic Rewarewa handle piece which dates back to 1800BC! Black Maire is one of New Zealand’s hardest timbers and used the by the early Maori for cultivation tools and weaponry.
Each piece is unique and handcrafted from ancient New Zealand native timbers salvaged from rivers and forests. They are designed to be used and passed down to family or friends as a treasured possession.
This butter knife is handmade by sculptor-chef, Tom Muir. The handles are designed to fit comfortably in your hand and they look beautiful displayed in your kitchen (not be hidden away in drawers!) Only sustainably sourced New Zealand native timbers are used. Knife blades and spoon heads created from Black Maire, one of New Zealand’s hardest timbers and used the by the early Maori for cultivation tools and weaponry.The timber is dense so very capable of cutting so be careful.
Do not put utensils in the dishwasher. Warm hand wash only.
